Kia Optima’s Sporty Performance

The base engine for the 2020 Kia Optima is a four-cylinder with a six-speed transmission. The next step up is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a seven-speed transmission, which is a bit quicker and sharper with its reaction time. The turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is an even more powerful option.

The two hybrid powertrains include a plug-in version with an EPA-estimated 29-mile EV range. Both hybrid Kia Optima options behave like gasoline-powered vehicles, making it easy for drivers to transition from a solely gasoline-powered car to a hybrid.
