Exciting New EV6 CUV
As the calendar moves toward 2022, Kia moves closer to releasing the automaker’s first all-electric vehicle, the EV6. With its sleek styling and roomy interior, the 2022 EV6 is a sign of good things to come from Kia with its promise to release several electric vehicles within the next few years.
Choose Your Electric Motors and Performance
The EV6 is a fully electric five-passenger crossover with a single 58-kWh battery that delivers 576 HP on the EV6 GT trim. It comes standard with rear-wheel drive and a single axle-mounted motor, or all-wheel drive with two motors. Models with 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque deliver a 0-60 MPH time of 5.2 seconds.
With any plug-in electric vehicle, charging speed is an important conversation. With a Level 3 DC charger, it can reach 80% capacity in about 18 minutes. The range on the EV6 is about 300 miles. Drivers can use Level 2 chargers at home to get to 100% overnight.
Buyers who want to get in on the ground floor can opt for the First Edition that comes with dual-motor all-wheel drive, a 265 all-electric range with a 774.kWh battery, and 320 horsepower.
Sleek Styling with Modern Details
Once the EV6 hits the roads, it will garner plenty of attention with its modernized crossover curves. The sleek exterior is built on the same platform as the attractive Hyundai Ioniq, but with styling that fits with the rest of the latest Kia lineup. It comes in three colors, Steel Gray Matte, Urban Yellow, and Glacier. The First Edition model will come with 20-inch wheels and an ultra-wide sunroof.
The exterior has flush door handles and a grille Kia is calling the “Digital Tiger” for its aggressively modern design and uniquely set LED headlights.
On the inside, the EV6 has a state-of-the-art digitized dash with two fluid screens. One shows the vehicle’s driving status, and the other provides infotainment. For comfort and sustainability, the EV6 has vegan leather seating and a heat pump to augment the battery power and keep passengers warm. It also comes with ambient lighting for a unique driving experience.
